2021 marks Vickar Automotive’s fifth year supporting Crafting For A Cure. For five years, Vickar Automotive has supported Crafting For A Cure by sponsoring fundraisers and donating to our different programs. During this time, Vickar Automotive has helped us create over 100k Craft Kits and other distractions for children in over 100 hospitals, no matter their race, religion, gender, financial means, and medical health. With Vickar Automotive’s support, we at Crafting For A Cure have been able to expand our one-of-a-kind “Smiles For All” program which brings ballerinas into hospitals to perform hospital bedside. Likewise, we have increased our support to mental health wards in hospitals with our “Creating Breathing Space” program, where we provide patients between ages 5 to 21 with distractions and self-esteem items.
With Vickar Automotive’s support, we have become the largest provider of distractions and self-esteem items for over 40 mental health inpatient hospitals. Vickar Automotive has also been Crafting For A Cure’s lifeline since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. The past year has been challenging for everyone. Millions of people have lost their jobs due to the pandemic, and as a result, many charities around the world have experienced a significant drop in donations. We too have experienced a massive decline in support while at the same time experiencing a big jump in demand for our Craft Kits. Without Vickar Automotive’s support, we would not have been able to keep up with the increasing demand.
Larry and Tova Vickar and Vickar Automotive as a whole have been huge supporters of Crafting For A Cure, and we want to sincerely thank them for how much they have helped us expand our programs, and in the end, bring smiles to children whenever a hospital visit is necessary.
